Dear Parents/Guardians:
The decision to open or close schools in bad weather is based on a careful analysis of many different factors, including but not limited to, the weather forecast, the amount of snow and ice accumulated on sidewalks and roads, and excessively high wind conditions, just to name a few. The decision is made in conjunction with the West New York Police Director and neighboring School Districts. At times, it may be in the best interest to open schools on a delayed opening schedule if the extra time in the morning would create a safer opening. For this very same reason, the West New York School District is implementing a Delayed Opening schedule for tomorrow, Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
The delayed opening schedule, start and finish time for the schools will be as follows:
*Please note that breakfast will not be served, but lunch will.
For those students receiving transportation services within the District, bus pick-up times will be approximately 1 ½ hours after normally scheduled pickup times. We thank you in advance for your continued cooperation in making our schools safer.

La decisión de abrir o cerrar las escuelas durante condiciones climáticas adversas se basa en un análisis cuidadoso de muchos factores diferentes, que incluyen, entre otros, el pronóstico del tiempo, la cantidad de nieve y hielo acumulados en las aceras y carreteras, y condiciones de vientos excesivamente fuertes, por mencionar algunos. Esta decisión se toma en conjunto con el Director de la Policía de West New York y los distritos escolares vecinos. En ocasiones, puede ser en el mejor interés abrir las escuelas con un horario de apertura tardía si el tiempo adicional por la mañana permite una apertura más segura. Por esta misma razón, el Distrito Escolar de West New York implementará un horario de apertura tardía para mañana, miércoles 25 de febrero de 2026.
El horario de apertura tardía, así como las horas de inicio y finalización de las escuelas, será el siguiente:
*Tenga en cuenta que no se servirá desayuno, pero sí se servirá almuerzo.
Para los estudiantes que reciben servicios de transporte dentro del Distrito, los horarios de recogida de los autobuses serán aproximadamente 1½ horas después de los horarios de recogida habituales. Agradecemos de antemano su continua cooperación para hacer que nuestras escuelas sean más seguras.
