Principal's Message
Welcome all!
It is with great excitement that we embark on what I am confident
will be another successful academic year at P.S. #5. Our steadfast
goal is and has always been to prepare our students for the rigors
of lifelong learning by challenging them intellectually, helping
them grow socially, and guiding them toward independent thinking and
problem solving.
During our normal school day, extended day, and Saturday Academy
programs our students are active and enthusiastic participants, who
are cognizant of the fact that the school’s stakeholders will not
accept mediocrity, value a solid effort and perceive academic
excellence as being of paramount importance. Proof of this emphasis
can be seen in the success of our Honor Roll assemblies, Student of
the Month recognitions and End of the Year Awards program.
In closing, I appeal to our parents, teachers, and other staff
members to keep open- channels of communication. This will assure
that all of our students receive the highest level of education
possible, are empowered with important life skills and grow in an
environment that is safe and secure.
