Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! Educating our children and ensuring a safe and secure environment in which our children are comfortable to learn remains our top priority.
Along with providing our children with the best possible education and assisting students in becoming life-long learners, the school and the home work must work collaboratively and
cooperatively for the successful development of well-rounded and responsible, young adolescents.
New ideas and strategies, 21st century ideas and strategies for that matter, are being employed to assist each student’s academic progress. Ideas and strategies such as these, are sure to include the bedrocks of education such as science and math but are now also combined with specialized educational programs in such areas as technology, engineering and the arts. This carefully crafted and successful merging and implementation of these subject areas; Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics is more commonly known as S.T.E.A.M. and presents these important educational content areas in a new, refreshing and highly engaging manner that is student-based and student-centered.
Our school has a range of grade levels from Pre-Kindergarten through sixth grade. Each grade level is equally important in establishing each and every student’s academic foundation for learning. The primary grades are responsible for establishing the solid base on which all future learning will build upon. The upper grades permit students to expand and broaden their thinking and learning while implementing the academic skills they have mastered.
Public School Number 3 has been able to offer students after school programs in mathematics, language arts and science. In recent years, Computer Coding and CSI Science Forensics have also been added to our after school programs. Public School Number 3 is also proud to present students with the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities such as: intramural sports like volleyball and basketball, instrumental music and chorus, drama and peer leadership. The 2018-2019 school year also saw the emergence of our school’s first Junior Student Council.
We are fortunate to have an active Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) that shares the same vision as that of our educators. In conjunction with teachers and with special consideration and care, the PTO has been able to sponsor such events as: festivals, assemblies, book fairs, plant sales, honor roll awards as well as social events and other activities for our students.
Public School Number 3 has a rich history of participating in worthwhile community activities as well as to charitable organizations. In an effort to help shelter animals, Pubic School Number 3 held a school-wide food drive that was organized by the Junior Student Council. Student Student participation in activities such as allows for life lessons and helps in creating a well-rounded and responsible person.
Public School Number 3 is dedicated to providing our children with the best possible learning experience. We look forward to establishing new parent relationships as well as maintaining and expanding upon those that have already been established. With parents and teachers working together, we anticipate another outstanding and successful year here at Public School Number 3.
