Welcome to Public School #2

Principal's Message
Dedicated Staff, Parents, and Students
As we look forward to a new school year, I would like to welcome
everyone back to our second home, Public School Number Two. It is
with excitement and anticipation that we enter into 2012-2013, our
41st year.
We intend to carry on the Number Two tradition of providing an
outstanding, well-rounded education to all of our students. As part
of our dedicated and experienced staff, I know that we will work
together to continue to assist our children in developing the skills
that are necessary for them to succeed. The Public School Two team
recognizes that each student has unique capabilities and learning
styles. Therefore, our teachers strive to accommodate all of our
students by creating a positive and challenging learning
environment.
As we undertake the challenges of a new year, I encourage our staff
and parents alike to maintain the goals and objectives in ensuring
that each and every student reaches his or her full potential by
utilizing all of the resources that we have available here at P.S.
Two. For example, our state of the art media center as well as a
variety of programs that we offer to our student population to help
build the foundation for high student achievement. Our support team
consisting of but not limited to our Nurse, School Social Worker,
and Child Study Team will also help meet the expectations of the
community and its diverse population.
One of our proudest and most memorable experiences at School Two
occurred last January when former President Bill Clinton visited us
as part of the “Alliance for a Healthier Generation”.
As principal of Public School Number Two and on behalf of the entire
school administration, I welcome you back and look forward to
working together to maintain our legacy of Dolphins’ excellence.
Sincerely,
Bernard
Abbadessa,
Principal
