Built in 1891, Public School No.1 continues to be a vibrant, close knit K-6 school community for nearly nine hundred and fifty students and staff members. Our student body, made up of many nationalities, composed of children with a wide array of talents, abilities, and needs, successfully working together to form a unique family.
Our belief is that all our children can succeed and our commitment to addressing their individual needs is our goal. Public School No. 1 will continue to foster these goals in order to produce healthy, happy, and educated children today who will become the leaders of tomorrow.
Maintaining high academic standards leading to mastery of the Core Curriculum Content Standards, which the state of New Jersey has deemed essential to the education of each of our students, requires a well thought out plan for success. This plan includes curriculum addressing literacy, mathematics, science, technology, and the arts.
