Memorial High School Senior Xin Liu’s pencil drawing “Mixed
Blessing” was chosen as one of four Merit Winners in the 27th
Annual Emerging Artist Event sponsored by the Art Administrators
of NJ. District Supervisor David Osnowitz is a member of this
organization and Ms. Bridget Lamperti is the Visual Arts Teacher.
The event and art show was presented at Kean University. Superintendant John Fauta was presented with the AANJ Educational Leadership Award for showing continuing support of arts education in the State of NJ. The MHS Band & Chorus competed this week in Music in the Parks at
Dorney Park, PA. Both groups won 1st place with Superior ratings
(the highest rating possible) and also the chorus had the
outstanding soloist, Jaime Velasquez. While this was going on for the MHS groups, the Middle School Choruses and Bell Choir traveled to Hershey Park and competed in the Music in the Parks Festival. The Bell Choir won 1st place with Superior Rating, The Girls Choirs Choir won 1st place, the Mixed Choir and Boys Choirs won 2nd place and the entire group was singled out with the coveted Esprit de Corps Trophy! Danna Guerrero, from the Middle School, received All Around Best Student Accompanist. |
